I found a jeweler that buys gold jewelry and gems and it's in a good area of
town.  Now I just have to finish selecting the items I don't want and get my
butt over there :)

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.  Maybe these folks will give me a good
price.  If not, I'll walk away and find something else.

Decent enough - not what I was hoping for since most of the gold was 10kt
and they buy buy weight and the stones were (in their opinion) negligible.
There were a few items 14kt and good stones so they brought a bit more; gold
weight plus the stones.  I'm still not sure whether I'd have done better or
worse at a pawn shop.  Too late now.

They don't deal in sterling silver jewelry but I showed him the necklace and
he consulted with another jeweler and gave me a referral to someone who
does.  I decided not to go that route - I listed that item on eBay along
with the matching earrings with a reserve price.

Whats the e-bay listing number? I love silver!

4951204621.  It says I'll ship to the USA only but that isn't necessarily
true :)

Ooooh! Its gorgeous, and yet sadly, already out of my price range (taking
into account exchange rate and shipping). Hope you get a good price for it!

Thanks!  It's pretty but I've only worn it a few times.  The reserve is
pretty high because I know what I paid for the set.  I suspect it won't
sell, but the only fees I'll incur will be for having a "supersize" photo
and a 2nd category for searching.  When the auction ends I might still take
it to the place the goldsmith recommended... or maybe I'll just hang on to
it.
