Because I wasn't hungry last night, the kittens have decided I must be
sick. So they went to bed with me and cuddled up close.
Every time I woke up (due to tails brushing my face or whiskers up my
nose). Brother and Sister were both in my face - "Are you okay? Are
you still sick? Here, let us help. We'll purr for you. We'll rub up
against you. We'll let you pet us!"
I think they are just a little too enthusiastic to be nurse kitties
just yet, although they seem to have just the right touch for hospital
nurses ("here, wake up and take this sleeping pill").
Still, it was nice to know that the bratlings were so concerned over
my lapse in appetite (big grin), and were willing to pull the night
shift.
In fact, when I woke up this morning, Brother all but told me "night
shift is over - call your day nurse." Poor me - abandoned by my
bestest nurses...
Hugs and Purrs,

Heh. *My* nurse believes firmly that the best cure for an upset tummy
is to plant her very substantial self directly on that tummy and direct
tickly, whiskery purrs into the sufferer's face - and then express great
offense when dumped off said tummy in a hurry because it insists upon
being emptied *at once!*

Oh my goodness, what a cute story! We have four nurse cats in my
clowder, now that my sister and her boyfriend brought their two
down from Indiana. Tina takes care of my sister's boyfriend;
Rosco takes care of my sister; Kitty Schottland takes care of my
dad; and Lilith Kitten takes care of me! And, except for a few
brief staring matches, everyone's getting along! If only my mom
could have lived long enough to see this ...
The part about waking up to take the sleeping pill reminds me of
what my mom said the nurses did to her 32 years ago when she went
into the hospital for a week to have my sister. My mom, a light
sleeper by nature and especially when she's away from home,
requested a sleeping pill. She used to nod off every night
around nine or ten p.m. Around 11:30, the night nurse would wake
my mom for a sleeping pill. My father and my maternal
grandmother just couldn't see the humor in that. For some odd
reason, my mom and I thought being woken for a sleeping pill was
hysterically funny.

We have *no* surse cats; when their hoomins are illin' they as usual
insist on hogging the bed, fprawling on the pillows/head of the
afflicated,
and stuffing themselves into the smallest space available around or on
horizontal hoomin at their mercy....actually, they have no mercy. The
best thing about them here is that they are large, warm and fuzzy.

Hi Debby,
I had a similar experience years ago in a hospital... I was in to have
a cyst removed from the base of my spine, and the nurses kept waking me up
to ask if I wanted a pain pill, or a sleeping pill... after about the third
or forth time, I sat up in the bed and said "DUH!... If I wasn't in pain I
could sleep quite well thank you!... Please quit waking me to ask that
question"... I was allowed to sleep very well that night. :~)

I was in bed all last week with a sinus infection and Mayhem thought
the best cure was to sit on my chest and stick her furry nose in my
face. Hmph...
Mischief helped too by flopping on Meowmie's sleeping face too..
Ugh...

Well cat fur *is* the best cure for sinus ailments. So says Little Boy...

Snoopy says it's better to dribble on the hoomins face. She's older and
wiser so I can't argue with her. ;-)

It was fun over Thanksgiving to watch my daughter being to careful
that her one year old not touch anything the dog has had in her mouth.
And the baby searching the house for dog toys that had not been put
up.
Daughter knows darn good and well her daughter is going to be playing
fetch with the dog as soon as she is on her feet and can through the
ball. Just as long as she doesn't have to watch.
We went outside a few times where mom couldn't see us so Emily could
pet the cats.
