Hi All,
Some of you may remember that I've written about my precious little
Lady Jane Grey, my 21 year-old snuggle bunny/play kitten. I find it
impossible to deny her a spot between me and the keyboard on my desk,
and she will occasionally roll her dainty little body onto the space
bar. This causes an interesting phenomenon in Bubbles, it fires the
cannon like a machine gun if you hold it down. Fortunately, I was
able to salvage the game and get rid of the stalactite that she had
formed in the middle of the game board with some spiffy bank shots.
To change the subject, I've been puzzled by Roxy's behavior for the
last week. She's my little adopted Persian. At first I always knew
what she wanted when she came and mewed and gave me her 'little kitty
pats' (my nickname for her). She wanted to play and I would indulge
her with the peacock feather or the red bug, but since she's snuggling
me in the morning and generally becoming more social, it's not always
play she wants. Sometimes she wants to be chased (Daddy's comin' to
get'cha, yes I am, I'm goin' to get that kitty). Just now though,
she copied one of Smokey's behaviors. I followed/chased her into the
back bathroom where there's a gravity-fed bowl of crunchies and she
wanted me to paw some of them out of the hopper to fill the bowl. She
then started to eat and ignore me. Just what I need! Another cat
that needs me to assure him or her that it's OK to chow down and meows
till I come and 'touch' the bowl.
I'm not complaining, it's taken a long time, but she's finally getting
the idea that snuggling and petting can be fun. I keep hoping for the
day she becomes a lap-sitting girl.
Regards and Purrs,
O J

It sounds like she is well on her way to fulfill your wish. Congrats!
