Licky likes to curl up on my desk between me and the keyboard, when
I'm on the computer. He's here right now as I type, with his head
on my right arm, his front paw on my wrist, and his butt up against
my left arm. Amazingly, I can type just fine like this. I'm used to
it, because Roxy and Smudge both do it, too.
When he first gets up here, he purrs his head off. Then he settles
down to go to sleep, and gets quiet. But all I have to do is look
down at him and exclaim, "Licky! What a good boy!" or something like
that, and the motor starts right up again. Without me even moving a
muscle. And he has a nice, loud purr, too, a deep bass sound.

Awww :) I have a laptop so no one can really "get in the way".
Though Rhett has now discovered bubbels and has managed to make the
bubbels REALLY REALLY big somehow. It didn't help, I tell you. :)

I have an under-the-desk keyboard drawer, and a flat-panel monitor, so there
is plenty of space on my desktop. Mimi loves to curl up there and purr
herself to sleep when I'm mesmerized by a game ;). Couple of times she's
slept so good, she's rolled over and plopped off the desktop and onto my
keyboard. Moe will sometimes join her, and they will sleep there for a
while. Then poor l'il Ping comes along wanting to join them, but there's no
room for him! He ends up wedging himself behind me in my chair.

Isn't that sweet! Persia does that, too. I used to find it difficult to
type with her draped over my left arm like that but quickly grew to realize
that's just the way things are. I love it when the "motor" starts up again.

Nope. As I've said here before, I don't know why no one has marketed a
CD of a cat's purr as a sleep inducement. If your furball (in your
case, Stinky) takes the night off from purring duties, you set the CD
player to "repeat" and get a blissful night's sleep.
Purrs; (to borrow Flippy's signoff)

No kidding! I've often wondered that myself. Purring is the world's most
relaxing sound, IMO - better than ocean waves, waterfalls, or tinkling
chimes in the wind. I think there's a business niche here...

Sounds like "someone" here should take the initiative and make money hand over
fist =)
