Since I'm a little ....  errmmm... busy I'm not going to try to respond
to each individual post but I just want to say think you all so very
much for your support.  Its been comforting knowing that so many of us
have gone through this and survived and hearing your stories.

MLB: I would have given up too.  Sometimes fate sends messages and its a
good idea to listen.  It would be nice if fate could send those messages
in a little more pleasant way!

Fil: You can count on four sets of powerful purrs coming your way when
you need them.  I'll even send some Sammy belly fur which has really
helped! Usually those college contests that started with Chug, Chug
ended with hurl, hurl!  I quit participating in those contests after the
night when I drove from the bar back to campus and couldn't remember
getting there.  That was enough for me! As I drank this stuff I kept
thinking of the television show Fear Factor.  DH enjoys watching it
occasionally. When those fools get to the part where they drink blended
worms and Madagascar hissing cockroaches I gag. He has to turn the
channel. I kept telling myself this stuff couldn't be that bad and if
they could drink that stuff I could get this down. It didn't help, but I
did get it down.

Sheenah, I think we probably had different drinks.  Mine was the
consistency of water. Your sounds like the stuff they give for upper GI
exams, which is actually worse to get down but I'm not sure you have to
drink as much. I sure wish they'd recommended adding cordial though,
that would have helped, I'm sure. This is mostly a preventative type
procedure.  In the US (I'm not sure this is done everywhere) a
colonoscopy is recommended by the time a person is 50 and while I have
some abnormal bleeding, we don't think its anything to be concerned
about.  However, I'm adopted so  that my family medical history is
unknown and the Doc felt it was time to get this done (I'll be 50 in July).

Well, off to worship the Throne, Thank you all very very much. You
always come through in a pinch.

Hi Julie,

I had a gastro-what-ever-it-is - at the same time as a colonoscopy and
had to drink a litre of the stuff I described.  LOL Now, I'm
remembering that the day before I had to take it, I had to drink some
other not-very-pleasant tasting stuff.  I also had to follow strict
instructions concerning eating and drinking "normal" beverages for
some 36 hours before the procedures were done.

I am very glad to hear that you do not think that you have anything to
worry about.

Love

Sheenah
