Eli the litle black terrorist who chases everyone else up trees got a taste
of his own medicine yesterday. I heard a fight outside and ran to look. Eli
was way up high in an oak tree looking down at another cat. But all five of
the other kitties were all indoors at the time. This was some stray tom that
came around to show Eli that it isn't any fun to be chased up a tree. The
stray slinked off into the woods while Eli made his way down to me, shaking
like a leaf in the wind.

Awww, poor Eli. Please give him scritches from me and headbutts from my
four felines.

Glad he didn't get hurt!  Poor guy.

<g>  It sounds as though Eli ought to try to find himself a big
bruiser of cat who, for bribes of juicy mice, would become his
bodyguard.

He read this and said "Hey, yeah! Why didn't I think of that?"

We have some big juicy rodents under the house right now. Billy has already
killed two of them. I know, because he always brings his prey indoors to
play with and then eat.

Actually, Billy might just turn out to be that big bruiser.... He's bigger
than Eli now, and Eli was previously the biggest of the bunch at 14 pounds.

<L> Pat, you're telling me that a *cat* has confessed to a *human*
being smarter than *any* member of the feline species ?  I think
that's a first :^)
