The right thing to do didn't come to me in a timely manner yesterday.

Walking in the town square, my curiousity finally got the best of me and I
walked into an office where I have always seen a sign on the door saying
"Don't let the cats out, no matter what they tell you." Last time I walked
past, I actually saw two cats through the glass front, but didn't have time
to stop in. This time, I just had to meet them!

Buddy is a very big and very friendly orange tabby male with white legs,
chest, neck and belly, and a pink nose. His ladyfriend, O.C., a sweet little
tortie, was curled up in a kitty bed. Their slave came into the reception
area and I explained to her that I was only there because I could no longer
contain my desire to meet the four-legged office managers.

Both kitties were rescues. O.C.'s story is particularly sad. I said to the
kindly woman, "Oh, so you're a cat saver too!" And she then revealed that
she and her mother share their home with 35 cats!!!

The right thing to do, of course, was to tell her about this NG. I will do
it next time.

Wow. 35 cats. I hope they have a BIG house.  I love the sign "No matter what
they tell you".  I"ll have to make one for Pearl that says "No extra meals,
no matter what she tells you."

There's a sign like that where my sister lives. It states that the cats
are accomplished actors, and no matter how starved they seem, they are
well fed and do not need handouts.

YES!! That's exactly what I have always called orange-and-white cats.
I thought I'd made that up, but it turns out I was just reinventing the
wheel, because many other people have had the same thought. If I ever
have such a cat, I just might name it "Creamsicle". Then I could sing
this to him/her:

I want to live with a Creamsicle Cat
I could be happy, for the rest of my life
With a Creamsicle Cat

You can't have him, but Huey is a Creamsicle cat.  He has the most
forgiving and loving disposition.  He even forgave Rob for passing gas
on Him when Huey was sleeping under the covers between the two of us.  I
think he also got pay back, as he licked Rob on the small of the back
right afterwards.

Pam S. who was glad she didn't gas the cat
