I woke him up at 2:00 AM to offer a snack, hoping he would say "yes". Well,
I hit the jackpot, he devoured half of a 5.5-oz. tin of Friskies without
stopping!!!

You know, when he's not eating, he might just be feeling nauseous. And
it seems like the nausea is coming and going. I'm glad he managed to wolf
down a lot of food, that should help offset some of the other times when
he can't eat.

Okay, this is very encouraging.  Let's hope he doesn't have another setback.
Purrs still ongoing.

How's he doing today?

| How's he doing today?

The head cold is abating. Still there but not too bad. He ate a bit more
salmon last night around 9, I offered food again at 2 AM, he was
uninterested so I gave sub-q fluids, which he fought to prevent but I did
get accomplished. This morning we went out for a walk and he ate grass (no
vomiting). So far today he has shown no interest in food. I'll try again in
a while.

Still sounds like he's doing a whole lot better than he was a week ago.
Keeping the fingers crossed and the purrs coming.

Thanks. I neglected to mention in the previous reply that he no longer
shakes his head while walking, now he stops, shakes head, then continues.
Smart kitty!
