Pretty much from day one Muddy has been a fighter (though never with my
other cats) and over the course of 14 years has worn his scars like
battle honors. His latest run in resulted in a trip to vet to have a
deep abscess on the back of his head treated, resulting in 3-days in the
slammer while they made sure the it drained properly ($500 bill, thank
you Muddy). Anyway, he's home now, and apart from looking like somebody
shaved his head with a lawnmower he's in fine fettle, though annoyed
because he's confined to quarters for a week, with loss of privileges :-)

Aw. Glad to hear he's on the mend, though.

Glad he's better, but that's quite a bill. I know how you feel - Smudge
sometimes gets into skirmishes with neighborhood cats, and then ends
up at the vet getting something cleaned or drained, etc. Of course Muddy
will never associate this period of house arrest with the behavior that
got him there, so he'll probably end up doing it again, but hopefully
not before you can recover financially!
