Orphan Kittens Update, Almost a Year

Remember the two stripey kittens we had last summer?

Sissy's new name is Mobic (Mobie)....she is now the only cat in the
household,
her new owner is a middleaged nurse. (Hence the name. I think it's
some
kind of drug). She is loved, and spoiled, I got a photo of her inside
the dishwaster
licking plates not long ago. (ewww.)

But the best story is Bubby, I think that's still his name. He's also
the only
cat in the house, his owner is a 14-year-old girl. We got several
photos. Apparently
Bubby's mom likes to sew for him, because in every picture he has a
different
seasonal outfit on, complete with a hat. He has a Christmas outfit,
and Easter outfit,
a St. Patrick's Day outfit, etc., but it looks like sometimes he
dresses casually
with only a T-shirt on.

If this was any *other* cat, I'd say it was abuse. But I know Bubby,
and I know he
loves it. They never did know they were cats anyway.  If there's
anyone new or doesn't
remember the story, Bubby & Sissy's mom was a feral that got killed by
dogs when they
were teeny-tiny and had to be bottle-raised. They had one other
littermate that didn't
make it. They were like little pieces of meat. I swear, I never
expected them to live.
If it wasn't for Pedialyte and KMR they probably would not have.

It's just a good thing to hear, and I wanted to share it.

Thanks for the update, Sherry - it's always nice to hear good news (I nice
to know I'm not the only kook who dresses up her cats ;>)!

I think it's cute. Although her human had better check before shutting
the dishwasher door and starting the wash cycle! Was she licking the
plates before or after they were washed? (I don't think it's gross if
they still hadn't been washed, but it would be if they were already clean
and then put away with kitty germs on them.)

For some reason, I don't remember this story at all. I don't know why,
I was here and reading last year! Not a good sign...

It is great to know that they survived and both have good homes.

Here's some pics I took after I'd had them a week or so. I wish I had
pics of the first days, they were so tiny--but I didn't take any
because
I honestly didn't think they'd live. See if this jogs your memory--

Sherry

I had forgotten about those pictures.  What teeny, tiny little (how
redundant can I get?) babies.  I'm so glad you rescued them, nursed them to
health, and found homes.  Great story!

Incidentally, I think mobic is medication for arthritis.  So, it makes sense
that a nurse would choose that name.

They're adorable! The quilt picture looks the most familiar, probably
because it's a gorgeous quilt. All the nicer for having two striped
cuties on it. Thanks for the pics.

Duffy shows a lot of interest in the dishwasher.  He sometimes gets up on
the open door and starts to investigate the pull-out trays.  That's one
place I don't want him because I have a fear of him getting inside and
getting trapped there.  Actually, I don't think he would wander into those
upright "spikes," and I always look inside just to make sure -- but it give
me shivers just to think about it.

Great stories.  I have never put clothing on my cats and generally don't
like the idea.  The only exception is that I bought a little Santa hat and
tried to get pictures of Holly and Duffy wearing it.  No way!  Neither one
will let me set it on their heads.  Even Duffy, who is blind, somehow knows
as soon as I start to perch it on his head, an he immediately objects.

You took such amazing care of them, Sherry! I'm so glad to hear they are
so happy in their new homes.
Best wishes,
