Kyla =^. .^= - 20 May 2008 03:48 GMT IIRC, when Clinton was president, Socks was the White House Cat. Cats don't cause war, they only eat mice;) Were there any other Cats in the White House? I couldn't find a link, because my internet crashed on me again. Thoughts? Kyla --keeping posting to a minimum

I can remember many of the dogs in the white house, Fala, Checkers, Liberty, Millie, Buddy -- , but Socks is the only cat I recall.

I believe the Bush's have a cat. But not much has been made of it. The Carters had a cat, too, I think. Teddy Roosevelt had a Polydactyl cat named Slippers. But Socks seems to be the only one who got serious press. =o)

Vladimir Lenin's orange pet cat, if he had been in charge, would no doubt have nixed the Russian Revolution, ditto Freddie Nietzsche's philosophy that cats are superior to hoomins in many ways..("God is dead, etc....").

Our current president has two cats, Rontti (means something like 'b*st*rd cat) and Miska. She has pictures of them, along with her other pets, at
