I'm am very sorry not to have been here a lot during the last two
weeks to check up on things, but it has been a very long two weeks
after having lost Tony so unexpectedly.
On the up side, I am fostering kittens. Two of them as I think I have
said before. I've had them almost 10 days and they are getting to
where they are really cute now. They are 5 weeks old and are learning
to eat solid food again - I took them off it when I first got them
because I thought they were too young to eat solid food. Now, they are
much more ready.
One of them is black as is a little bit ahead developmentally, the
other one is tiger stripe and is just adorable. I call him mouse. Yes,
I know that is dangerous - naming only means it is yours. He even
answers to his name already! I haven't decided on keeping on yet.
Currently fingers are not safe from either of these two, but this
morning, the paper towel roll suffered casualties. It was a sad time
and we marked it accordingly.
They are both such cuties to curl up with in my recliner and will lay
there sweetly forever - I think it is a bid to see how long to little
ittie bittie things can pin my down to my chair. They may only be 5
weeks old, but they are NOT innocuous. They are great masters in the
making.
I finally charged the batteries to the camera, so I will get some
pictures soon. I will have to showcase a spotty tummy. A very spotty
tummy. This is just a warning to those who are susceptible to those
things. :)

Hey, that paper towel roll had greeblings that you didn't know about.
Beware, there are greeblings everywhere. How do the other owners feel about
the bitties? I miss having bitties around, but then again, the owners are
good at keeping us busy and happy too.
Tanada has taken up the fine art of bathtub singing. She climbs into the
tub and yowls for a short while, then comes out and glares at me, apparently
because I didn't respond the way she wanted.

The other two owners will come up to the kittens, give them a good
sniff up and down, hiss, and then run like their lives depend on it. I
don't worry about either of them hurting the kittens. And they don't
apparently mind the smell of the kittens on me, as long as I am not
actually holding a kitten when they come near. I am going to give them
all another week and then I am going to let the kittens out for
supervised playtimes on the floor in the living room. They are still
so small, I am afraid I will lose them in the apartment if they aren't
supervised! Tony would NOT have been happy with this setup, although
he would have relaxed about it by now. He would just grump. That is
why I never did fostering once he got past a certain age.

Nothing can replace a lost loved one, but it is always comforting to have
new lives in our home to care for and love. I would advise keeping both -
"Da Boyz" were much less little terrors than Sammy was because they had each
other to spend their energy on (and they were a comfort to each other - and
still are).
Purrs that everything works out for you and the "fosters" <BEG>!

That's really sweet. There really is nothing quite like having a loudly
purring kitten asleep on you, is there? Can't wait to see pictures of
them!

Somebody once said, "There is no psychiatrist like a new puppy", or
something to that effect. (Sorry, I don't have the exact wording handy.)
For some of us, this actually means new *kittens*, of course. :)
Congrats?

Actually, I think it's more like "There is no psychiatrist like a puppy
licking your face." That still might not be exact, but it's closer.
Or a kitty purring in your ear!

Awwwwwww!! I think I'm getting textual Kitten Fever just reading about
them! Bridget, I think Mouse the Spotty Tummy Greebling Hunter is
trying to adopt you for his own! =o) So glad you have good company to
ease the grief of losing Tony.
(I'm a fancier of Spotty Tummies, yes... Every now and then, Francesca
will give me a glimpse of hers, but only when she's in an
exceptionally mellow mood.)

I'm lucky. I get a big (and I mean BIG) dose of spotty tummy every day.
I even get to smurgle it. <blissful smile>
