Oh Gods it's that Scary Holiday again. The one where Mom an' Dad put
up a TREE. Don't they UNDERSTAND? Trees come from OUTSIDE. There's
no FOOD outside. Just coyotes, an' dirt, an' WEATHER. I HATE
weather. There's wet weather an' cold weather an' really hot weather.
Weather SUCKS. I'm staying on my couch where there's NO WEATHER an'
keepin' an eye on that creepy tree, so it doesn't GET me and make me
go live OUTSIDE again.
Yule is the SCARIEST holiday EVER.

((hugs)) Smokey. You are safe. You need never go in the scary Outside
again. Repeat after me "I live inside, the outside is gone." Keep saying
it until you feel much better and then go and do upside downy head on your
slave's bed and have sweet dreams about mousies.

No it ain't. Every morning I watch it through the window, just to
make sure it stays on ITS side of the glass.
I like when it rains and I can go make faces at all the people I see
cause they're outside and I'm not.
I also make fun of cats I see outside. Cause it sucks to be them. I
love watching strange cats through the glass. See ya, wouldn't wanna
BE ya (ha ha ha)

Nocturne won't let me on the people bed. She's a b****. You know any
cute girls that'd let me lick 'em?
and have sweet dreams about mousies.
Yuk. There is hardly any meat on those. I like dreams about when I
stole the pizza slice off the counter.

Lynxie has taken to sleeping under the christmas tree. It's adorable.
I'll have to get a picture next time I see him doing that. }:)

I have some good pictures of Felix under our tree [past years]. I'll
have to get DH to put them in our Web space.

I've dealt with trees for several years. It really won't hurt you
[it's either dead or plastic], and humans hang really neat toys on
them [they call them "decorations", but they're really cat toys]. My
Mom puts a really nice sparkly soft bed for me right under it, and
gushes about how cute I am when I use that bed.

Poor Smokey. You can calm down, the tree will not make you go outside,
no-one will. You're in your forever home now. You could even try
climbing the tree for fun. >:o)

Or, just for fun, you can stick your tongue out at the tree and say,
"Ha ha, I don't have to go outside" in a sing-song voice. :)

Don't worry Smokey. Our hoomins do the tree thing around this time of
year too. It brings with it the promise of all sorts of things:
It seems that when the tree comes out we're coming up to what the
hoomins call a holiday. This confuses us somewhat. Sometimes a holiday
means that the hoomins stick us in our baskets, and then take us
somewhere in the big growly monster and leave us there for a few days
.... but we're always well looked after, and we get very spoiled when we
come home. But sometimes holidays just means that the hoomins don't
disappear in the morning and only come home late at night - they're
there all day, which is nice. We've never had to go away for a tree
holiday; the hoomins spend a lot of time at home.
There seems to be lots of yummy food around for tree holidays too. We
know there's prawns somewhere in the cold box, and there was talk of
turkey.
And most importantly, the hoomins always seem to spend a lot of time
sitting down for tree holidays too. It's too wet for them to go and do
stuff outside, so they spend a lot of time in front of that big grey
thing in the lounge; the one that makes lots of noise and has changing
pictures on it. Which means more lap time for us ....
prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .....
