Abelard just scarfed up a tablespoonful of pureed shrimp, followed by some Nine Lives Turkey, with no help from me!!! He's walking much more steadily and only falls over when he shakes his head. He's back to grooming himself too! Still won't drink water on his own though, I have to force that. His weight has dropped quite a bit, I think he's down under 8 pounds again. He made a huge poopoo this morning, and ate a little bit. Once his appetite is better, I will be feeding him alone in the bathroom to help him regain what he lost. The grooming is wonderful news. Sounds like he's on the mend. If you're worried he isn't getting enough fluids, maybe you could mix some water into his food? Even better, make it warm water that will heighten the smell of the food and maybe stimulate his appetite more. Glad to hear he is now grooming and pooping. Sounds like he is really on the mend.
