As long as Buster has been with us, I have frequently heard him go to
the window and demand "Meout!", with insistent head gestures to
emphasise his point.
When he's inside, he likes to sit in my lap, especially when I'm at
the computer, and he is usually patient, waiting for me to tear my
attention away from monitor and keyboard so I can skritch his ears.
Tonight, however, he decided to throw a new phrase at me.
I was typing away, when he grabbed my arm with his paw, and said what
sounded like "lovemenow?". I said "What?!?", and he repeated it.
Of course, I stopped immediately and loved him now. I was rewarded
with nice gravelly purrs.
What a love kitty!
Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

Nocturne gets jealous when DP and I are hugging. She has a word,
"MYEH!" Which means: "Don't pet HER, pet ME!"
It is delivered as a loud, sharp, staccatto command. Repeat until you
achieve obedience.

Goodness, he's also multilingual! Stinky has a huge vocabulary, but I
don't remember him saying anything English-- except "WOW!" ;)

My two cats are bilingual when it comes to understanding languages. You see,
the lady I rent a room from comes from Poland, and even though she speaks
Norwegian fluently, she prefers to use Polish when she talks with the cats.
I think my cats must be extraordinary intelligent, they learnt Polish in no
time! She even swears to them in Polish whenever they do something wrong,
and they react in exactly the same way as when I swear to them. I.e. two out
of three times run like hell, third time ignore the yelling... ;-) And when
she talks them into playing, they always come to her...
I can't tell what she is saying to them, but they seem to understand her all
the way.

Awwww! Persia says "Meowma!" This is generally in the morning when her
bowl is bare of crunchy kibble. I tested the theory that she was actually
saying this by holding the scoop containing the food and saying "What?"
"Meowma! Meowma!" she replies excitedly and breaks into loud purrs.
It could be when she wants in her kitty walk she is saying "Meout!" I'll
have to listen more closely. But now it's heading into winter, rainy a lot,
too cold for her to want to stay out there.

LOL. Too cute.
That's how I get into conversations w/ Stinky, soo-- he'll say
something like "MeoW!" "Wow!" or "Wak!" and I'll say "WHAT?" And
off we go. ;)

I'm very jealous. Kitty can still only do her silent feral open-mouth
no-noise, except she can occasionally say a very quiet "aargh" To
everything. Want to go out, Kitty? aaaah. Big open mouth, tiny noise.
Boyfriend can miaow. He will do it if he wants to go out, or come in, or
maybe if he thinks its time he had some more food, but neither of them are
conversational. BF has said mrrp and put his tail up if he meets me in the
garden, that's all they both have to say.
Kitty gets her point across by glowering and using claws mainly.
She can be lovely, if she wants to, though. If I lie back in my chair to
relax (eventually!) she likes to perch on my chest and purr. Digging her
claws in all the while too ;-) Ouch.
I had a visitor who said to me "Is the cat cold, is that why she sits on
your chest?" I replied "She is just overcome with love for her meowmie."
LOL. I think he was nearer the truth.
