I know brides have showers,at  least they do here  but has anyone ever heard
of a kitten shower?   An American friend of mine has told me she has been to
a kitten shower.    I love it.

What a great idea! What did people bring - toys, scratching posts, and
kitty beds?

Is it like a baby shower?  ...And who is being showered - the pregnant
feline, or the human with a new kitten?

The shower is for the kitten and people bring  kitten things, i.e. toys,
food, vet vouchers, flea treatment etc.
And the fun side of it all is that you get to play with the new kitten :)

I went to one once.  The family had a fire and  They had three cats and 2
dogs.  It was an animal shower and we all brought food and toys for the
animals.  Was such fun and the critters had to examine everything.  We
played pin the tail on the cat and Go get a bone  was a real hoot.

Ooo! Ooo! We did. It was great fun and a huge success. People *love*
buying
pet gifts. Go for it! You'll have a ball. Here are some pics from the
shower:

The booty (what a haul it was, the pic doesn't do justice)

Wow, some booty. I loved the paw-print cake, too.

I think that was one of the most fun fundraisers we ever did. We even
"registered" at Wal Mart for the things the shelter needed most. We
made
homemade dog cookies and tied them up in little cellophane bags for
party favors,
and "decorated" with large glossy photos of the adoptable animals at
the shelter.
I think the most fun thing about it was getting a large group of
people in one room that hardly knew each other, except they had a
common bond that they were all
cat/dog lovers.

The subject line made me think of kittens showering down from the sky.

This happened to a cousin of mine.  He was in a warehouse, and a couple of
kittens fell on him.  A cat had her kittens in a dropped ceiling (the
original Ceiling Cats).  He adopted the two kittens, who grew up to be very
fat!
