I know this is late, but here goes:

Took her in Tuesday am, picked her back up in the afternoon.

They pulled 4 (FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!) lower molars, and gave us more antib's
to give her to help her tongue (and the holes in her jaw where her teeth
used to be).  She will likely have to be on soft food for the rest of
her life as they don't make dentures for cats (do they?).  Poor girl was
STARVING when we got her home, but her mouth hurt too much to eat (and
she was still groggy and stumbly from the anesthetic)!  She was finally
able to eat the next morning, and boy did she ever!

We still have her isolated in the laundry room, and they want to see her
in about a month for a follow up.  Hopefully the ulcers on her tongue
are gone by then.

Don't worry, I think the worst is over for her. Over the years, have
had
3 cats - different time periods - who for various reasons had no teeth
to
eat anything but gooshy food. They all did fine gumming their soft
food
for many years, only one (a poor old guy brought to me from a
construction
site by a laborer I knew who had NO teeth from an auto accident we
thought
who I had to spread newspaper on floor as he kinda shoved the gooshy
food around while being a messy eater, LOL) was the least problem.

Getting much better - still not cleaning herself properly, but drooling
much less and - we can tell she's feeling better by the way she
struggles when we try to get the meds into her!

Ah, That is good to hear.  Um, have you been given pills for Smokey? Try
putting a little butter on them/it and it'll go down faster and won't give
her a yukky taste in her mouth.  Just a suggestion:)
Puuuurs on the way for her to heal and eat more.  It took Mosey some time.
He had liquid antibiotcs that he hated, but he was a good boy.

What we were given is a liquid.  Much easier than a pill.

Ah, so was Mosey, who is off it now:)  Ask your vet about getting some kitty
toofpaste to prevent any further problems.
Smokey can just lick it right from the tube.
Puuuuurrs from Mosey for Smokey to feel awl better soon.
