The vet's office where I boarded Persia & Peaches just called to ask how
they're doing! Um, they're fine, thanks. Okay, we just wanted to make
sure. Is this weird or what?
Peaches is chomping on a slice of apple; Persia is staring at me (maybe
hoping I'll open the freezer again so she can grab that chuck roast and haul
it off to the closet).

When I used to travel more, not an odd query from my then-regular
vet's
office...separate facilities for dogs - one side of practice - and one
for cats.
I would venture to guess you like I was, one of their best customers,
considering
what their current staay racked up in charges....?

She always hangs out in the closet :) It's full of soft clothes, blankets
and stuff.

That's also where the secret cat-teleporter is..so her Sweet Weebs can
teleport over to cuddle with her, ans she over to cuddle with him ;)

Maybe they had them long enough they got attached. That happened years ago
when I would pet sit for people to go on vacations. When they returned, I
after having their furry friends for a week or two, I would be lost not
knowing how they were. I would sometimes call and they were always
flattered that I card that much. Just a thought.

They certainly were boarded long enough. I figure it's payback because I
called twice a week (or more) to see how they were doing ;)

I would be surprised if there weren't someone there who misses them.

Maybe they just want to be nice? Or it's just one of those "personal
touch" things some businesses do, to ingratiate themselves to their
clients. I don't think you need to worry that they're stalking your cat. :)

LOL!
I think it was a nice gesture towards long term residents that they have got
fond of.

When she first acquired me, one of the vet techs asked if I would consider
giving her up! Apparently grey girls are somewhat rare. Of course I said
no, I'm keeping her. Or rather, she's keeping me :)

I don't think it's weird at all. They had them there for a long time, I
guess they got to like them more than most who are in for 2 days.

It sounds very courteous to me... making sure that they're adjusting
well to being at home again. :)

I think it's rather nice! After all, you did board them for quite a
long stretch of time - I'd say it's a sign of a caring vet to check on
how they're responding to being home again. (Okay, so maybe it's a way
of courting your business, too, but so are sympathy cards when you have
to have an animal PTS, but that doesn't make them any less appreciated
by grieving pet-owners.)

I don't know if it's weird, but it seems pretty nice to me.
