I spoke to BlueBird a while ago.  She wanted me to thank everyone here
who sends her Christmas cards.  She has already started receiving cards
this year, and she says it makes her day!

She is spending most of her time in bed these days.  She's in a lot of
pain, and sitting at the computer makes it worse.  She also has serious
breathing problems.  Her new pulmonary specialist says she doesn't have
asthma, as she had been told, which explains why the asthma medications
didn't help.  Her lungs are unusually small, and there is a lot of scar
tissue from radiation, so she doesn't have much lung capacity.  As a
result, she isn't able to get on any newsgroups any more.  She said she
tried coming here the other day, just to read posts, but after a very
few the next thing she knew was waking up with her face on the keyboard.
She said sleeping in bed is much more comfortable, so she gave up and
went back to bed.

Anyway, it cheers her up immensely to get cards, so thanks to all those
who send them to her.
