Thank you, Cheryl and everyone else who sent Frank birthday greetings. He had a nice day doing what he does best - napping, eating, then napping some more. He even played a while with a mousie, and had a wrestling match with Nikki. I'm glad he is still around, in spite of the scare I had this autumn with his swollen jaw. He is fine now, and seems to feel good most days. Some days he's a little grumpy, but I suppose he's entitled. He is getting kidney diet food (Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Special. Hill's gave him the runs), alternating with fresh meat. And of course, his teaspoon of sour cream twice a day, with his hyperthyroidism meds mixed in. When you consider that 17 years old is practically PAST senior citizen for a cat, I wish humans aged as gracefully! By the way, ever notice how much feline eyes can show age? It seems to be the feature that changes most as a cat ages.. I noticed Cherokee had black flecks in the colored part of his eyes, and the vet said, they are an indicator that a cat's age is in double digits. With Yoda, I've noticed his coat is rougher, not as shiny. He moves slower. He doesn't jump as much, and he's completely retired from going outdoors. Other than that, he still plays, loves catnip just as much, eats very well and is a good, solid weight. Loves to be petted and is more of a lap cat then when he was young. I groom her regularly but her coat sticks out and doesn't look so nice as it did. > He moves slower. KFC does sometimes, but she can still get the zoomies.
