Speaking of Hiding...

The morning I left to come to SC, Persia hid under the bed.  Much as it
pained me, I had to use a broom handle to get her to scoot out.  She ran
from the room.  I'd already blocked access to my office and the 2nd
bathroom, so when she ran out of the bedroom I closed the door behind me.
And looked for her.  Everywhere.  Under the end tables.  Behind the sofa
(even though she can't fit back there).  The kitchen is only about as big as
a good-sized office cubicle but I looked there, too.  I couldn't find her!
The door hadn't been opened so I knew she wasn't outside.  But where on
earth...?

She had run into her pyramid bed
http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2593486130046690505rTCPRm and was watching me
search for her!  Of course, she wouldn't come out of the little pyramid.  It
never occurred to her (until I did it!) I could just pick it up and dump her
into the carrier :)

I just got a aural flash of  chessy Kung Fu movie dialogue-- "SO, you dare
to challenge the master!?"

I just called to check on them.  They let Persia out to walk around for a
while this morning and the first thing she did was jump INTO her carrier!
Poor baby, she's sooo ready to come home.  Only a week to go...

If she only knew she would feel so much better.

Good news soon for Persia and little Peaches.

I know!

I've been thinking a lot about it.  I think I'll ask if I can go back and
let her out of her kennel (as opposed to a tech getting her for me).  Then
she can see me and maybe snuggle a minute before she gets in her carrier.
That way she'll know for sure she's coming home.

Peaches, of course, is just a happy bird wherever she is :)  I just hope
this time someone didn't rearrange all the perches in her cage!  I have no
idea why they did that (they certainly didn't clean them!).  Took me a few
days to figure out exactly where they belonged again.

Persia, we're sending you and Peaches purrs.  Hang in there, sweetie.
