I am going to go a bit south for a week and got out my suitcase today. The
cats have been inside of it all morning. I used the sweeper to remover
their fur and they acted like that insulted them. You can't make them
understand someone will check on them everyday. Prayers and purrs for
anyone who needs them while I am gone.

When we pack for a trip, you would think we were a couple of deadbeats
about to skip out on the rent or a hotel bill in the middle of the night.
Both of us can pack for two weeks without even getting the suitcase out
until the last ten or fifteen minutes. Its just too stressful for the cats
when then know one or both of us is leaving.
And by that I mean stressed out cats are too stressful for us.

I never actually unpack :) Since I travel so much with John, I just leave
my suitcase partially packed (clean clothes, of course!) where Persia can
always see it. She's gotten used to seeing me put an item or two in, or
take something out to wear (like it was a dresser!) Once I've done the evil
deed (taken her to be boarded) I throw in whatever last minute items I've
already planned to take. Somehow that morning she still seems to suspect
something, even though I've not gone near the suitcase. I think she senses
me getting a little keyed up.

Have a warm and safe trip Gramby. Prayers and purrs are going with you.
Um, maybe you should leave a radio playing while you're gone? I used to do
that when I dog/cat sat for some neighbors some years ago.
Hugs, purrs, prayers and Bright Blessings to a very sweet woman

Indeed Kili, DP was once out the door with his gym bag before he
noticed the tail hanging out....
Tyche loves a bag, that one. Or a suitcase. Or a box.

I think I'd notice an extra 10 pounds in my bag, though. LOL.

I have more problems just packing for a trip. I open the suitcase, plop
some clothes in, go into the bathroom, come back with toiletries, and sure
enough somebody has already nested on the clothes in the case. I kind of
hate to shoo whoever out because it's funny and it's cute, but darn it, I
have to pack and I'm not taking the cat! :~)

Have fun Granby! The owners will survive somehow and give you a ton of
grief when you get back.

Of course they're upset. They went to all that trouble to make sure you
had enough cat hair in your suitcase to last you the whole week. ;) Have
a nice trip.
