Went for the annual check up. Actually, it's been about 1.5 years since she
was there. Ummmmm. Well, Pearl's gained a little weight. We weighed her and
my vet's eyes popped open and she looked at me and said, "Life is very VERY
good at Karen's house." Then I got a lecture. Pearl used to weight 9.7 lbs.
Now she weighs 12.5 lbs. I knew she had gained but not THAT much!! She goes
and cleans up what ever is left on the other plates. So, I guess I will just
have to pick up dishes when the others get done. Sugar and Grant NEVER go
back for snackies so it's not as if they will care. I have been a naughty
meowmie.
On the behaviour end, my goodness, Pearl can swear like a sailor. She did
not enjoy the trip at all. Especially did not like being palpitated. She
growled, hissed and swore the whole time with ears flat. Though my vet says
she sees much worse, it seems like very bad behaviour compared to Grant and
Sugar who just sit quietly wide eyed and tucked in. At least she does not
need anals checked (no one expresses more easily than my girl Pearl). She
was very happy to go home.

Poor Pearl and meowmie! Hope you both are recovering from the vet visit!

LOL! Feisty girl Pearl. Nikki knows some Big Bad words for such a small
cat, too. Luckily, they only come out at TED's. I hope everything was OK
with her, except for the weight. She won't be happy about having to lose
that.

Don't beat yourself up over the weight thing. It's so easy for it to get out
of hand, and you know that it is something you need to change. Heck, I can't
get weight off of Bonnie because she'll only eat dry food. Sounds like she
had a good checkup. I'm glad her leg is still doing well!

She's already begun pulling the "oh..allright. I'll just chew on this really
old wet food." And then she finishes her portion exageratedly chewing
(literally) her food. Opies food (a dadism: OP stands for Other Peoples)
tastes better.

Congratulations! 12.5 doesn't sound too bad, is she small-framed? Flattening
her ears and swearing! Too funny. I don't blame her.

Well, I don't think she looks too fat, but she had a paddle before. Now it's
just more solid paddle.

I imagine I'll be getting the same lecture next time LB goes in.
Problem is that she just "loves" Sammy's new diet, and is getting
fluffier all the time, while Sammy keeps her lean figure. I've been
mulling over where I could put the food bowl where Sammy can reach it,
but LB can't.

Well, glad the checkup went as well as it did, even though she didn't
appreciate TED's bedside manner

Heh. I'm betting that we'll get the same lecture the next time we
have to take Tallulah to the vet. She remembers being hungry, and
eats herself silly at every meal. We've started calling her Lula the
Hut.

Lula is beautiful and does not look one whit overweight.

I agree, she looks just right to me. I would dearly like to boop the Hube
but will refrain, as he gets lots. I'm a sucker for spotty tummies,
Boyfriend has one.
Talking of which, he is growing into a beautiful cat. A friend of mine
described him as "rangy" a few months ago. Pffff, that was just a teenage
growing into his body thing. He is thickening out and has the most lovely
Cheshire Cat fat smiley face. Big round cheeks. I guess that's because he
was a boy for perhaps a little too long, eh? That makes them have big
faces? I'm sure I read that somewhere.
Oh, btw, visited Tess the Pointer's mum & dad tonight and passed on all your
prayers and purrs. They were very touched. The house seemed empty without
her, even though the other two dogs were there. They are still feeling her
loss very much. As they said "we saw her born" as they bred her.

Heh. She is indeed beautiful, and her long fur camoflages a lot, but
it's hard to hide your weight from the ones who pick you up for hugs
every day. And when she lies down, she is starting to cover a *very*
broad area. ;-)
