This morning Miss Emily tried even harder to get into the car than she
did yesterday. She tried the passenger side. She tried the driver
side. All this made me very nervous. When I started the car, she was
lying n the parking lot right next to my door.
Okaaaay Something is obviously afoot. And I have a sneaking suspicion
what it is. And I was right.
When I got home this evening, Miss Emily is lying on her side next to
the door. She almost always walks out to greet me, begging for petting
and cuddling. Not this time.
No, Miss Emily decide to give birth to three kittens today. One is all
grey, one is all black, and one is black with a grey face.
I sat outside and talked to her, and petted her, and made sure she had
her own bit of food. The babies are so hungry they don't let loose
when she stands up. She isn'at all that tall, though, so it isn't that
great a reach for the kittens.
I wish, I wish, I wish I could take them all in. My second wish is
that the local rescue people can take them, but I'm pretty sure they
can't.
At any rate, here's a picture or two:

Oh my goodness!! I hope they'll be OK. Did she find a good hiding spot
for them? Oh (looks at photos), I see - inside your house. :)
I wonder what it is about cats who are about to go into labor jumping
into cars? A car doesn't strike me as a wonderful place to have kittens,
but then I guess my opinion isn't what matters here.
But about 30 years ago, my sister was hanging out in a parking lot with
a friend. It was early summer, they were smoking cigarettes, and they
had the car doors open. A pretty cat jumped into the car and would not
leave. She was very insistent about it. So my sister took her home. She
(my sister) was still in high school and was living with my dad at the
time. Pets were not allowed in his apartment building, but he was out of
town, and my sister was nothing if not stealthy. She decided to let the
nice kitty stay overnight, and then bring her back to the same spot where
she'd taken her, and drop her off again. Except...
In the morning, my sister got up to discover 3 newborn kittens. When dad
got home, he predictably hit the ceiling, and the next thing I knew, I
had the mom cat and 3 kittens in my apartment. :)

Grab a burlap bag and head for the nearest river.

Awwwwwwwww, I hope the little bitties end up with a good home. When a feral
had her 5 babies in our shed, I couldn't say no and we took 2 of them on
which resulted in Chloe & Tyrone. We found homes for the others, luckily.
It's going to be fun to watch these kitties grow. :~) Take pictures,
furiously, and keep us updated.

OMG. Miss Emily is a beautiful cat. I know it's a lot of work to
raise a litter, even if they've got their Mama. But it is so
rewarding,
and fun. Purrs for good forever homes for all.

\She looks like Meow Meow our little tabby male. The kittens are so
adorable. I hope you can find humans for them all.

Mark, if you can, you might want to give Mama KMR kitten milk. It helps
with her system to take care of herself and to feed the babies. We
discovered this with Miss Penelope and than again with Sonya. Purrs and
good wishes for your new borders and may they have wonderful lives with
great hoomins.

We are STILL waiting on Twitch to bring forth her kittens. She waddles like
a duck now and has decided not to stay in the nice place the kids fixed for
her. She is roaming the house to ry and find a new spot. She uses the
litterbox and shows no interest in going outside. Lewi the deaf cat are
mortal enemies. She jumped on him once as he didn't know she was around.
Now, when he walks his head is on a swivel looking for her. When she does
chase him, he runs and then stops and turns around looking for her. She
usually runs right into him.
