Early yesterday morning when I got up, I heard Miz Piglet sitting in the
window growling at something outside. I moved to the window to see what she
was upset about. There is a tower for the antenna right outside that
window. CO beautiful male Cardinal was sitting on the tower singing his
little heart out. Problem was, he was facing Piglet and almost teasing her.
Piglet was so upset I grabbed the spray bottle and got the bird. She still
sat there for an hour unhappy.

it seems to me that there is a segment of the bird population that has a
very shallow gene pool like the mice that come into our house, Lee

That would be Cardinals. I'll never forget the one that thought that the
driver's side mirror on our neighbor's new car was another male cardinal
trying to take over his territory. Dumb bird almost battered himself to
death until the neighbor finally was able to find something to cover the
mirror with so the stupid bird couldn't see his reflection and think it was
out to get his women.

But you must admit, they're beautiful birds. And I like the way both
parties share responsibilities in taking care of their young.

Cardinals are pretty, but the local tanagers are also pretty and smart
enough not to attack the mirror on a car. Then again, the parenting
responsibilities are a point in cardinals' favor.

Accusing a bird of teasing your cat and then using that as an excuse to
harass the bird?
You are a very sick bastard.
