Felix started a liquid/oral antibiotic because the bad tooth is infected.  I
had to start it tonight b/c I requested he get a quick fix of penicillin
yesterday at TED.  I just opened it up and had to laugh when I smelled
bananas.

Is that for the human's benefit??  Because I am pretty sure that NONE of my
cats like bananas!!  Felix was crashed out on my bed.  I kinda blind sided
him with it.  (Hope he doesn't pay me back by yacking up on my bed)!!

Liquid penicillin has a strange sweet banana-like smell anyway.  It might
not have been flavoured.

No idea, but when I used to volunteer at the local shelter, the dewormer
smelled like bananas.

Did you pick that up at the vet or at the drug store?  I notice many of the
drug stores advertise that they will add custom flavorings to liquid
medicine.

Wonder if the include salmon or ham?

I had to give my dog (Sampson, RB) liquid antibiotics once and the bottle
was clearly marked "cherry".  I remember thinking, "dogs like cherries?
That's news to me!"  LOL

I've been allergic to penicillin many years and get some other
antibiotic
when necessary so I have no taste-test experience with it, but a guess
would be that small pets get Rx's for the same meds children do.

Ping is prone to colds, or as we refer to them "the Ping flu", so or vet
sells us Amoxicillin (liquid - actually comes in powder form, you
reconstitute it) without a checkup.  They said it was cherry flavored.
Smells like bubblegum to me. Haven't tasted it (yet), though.

I know it's for human children, but why can't they make a mouse,
chicken, or tuna flavored for cats.... and cat-turd flavored for dogs?
