I went to Home Depot this week and bought about 5 house plants that
were pretty. I did a search on the Net and found that the Dracaena is
a family of plants. The only one I saw as poisonous to cats was the
palm.
I don't think my cats are nibbling or eating any leaves of the plants
I bought, but still sort of concerned. How do you know if your cat
ate a poisonous leaf or branch or how dangerous can these plants be?
I just wanted some greenery around here and the plants are beautiful.

Ha! I noticed "Duffy fern" on the list of toxic plants you included. ;o)
Here are links to several other sites that list plants that are poisonous to
cats.

Matthew's right. I'd stick with nontoxic. I've seen several different
varieties of the Dracaena palm on the toxic list. So it's basically
a crap shoot--do you feel lucky, and *certain* your cat won't
ingest any of it? The frightening part is, with some plants (I believe
the lily plant is one of them)....you don't know they've eaten it
until their kidneys have failed from the toxins. And that's usually
too late to save the cat.
