Thanks for the reminder!  I've got a flower calendar on the wall.  I've got
a paradise one; I should change them out.

I have a Gary Patterson calendar - April has a huge cat laying on pillows
surrounded by food cans and titled "Fat Cat".

My niece has given me (for xmas) a "Kitten a Day" wall calendar every year
for as far back as I can remember.  I just flipped it over to April.

Just turned it.  March was a spectacular view of Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  Both
inspiring, and a little frustrating for March. ;)  April is a night view of
the Eiffel Tower.

My office calendar is boring.  It's from a local Ford dealer.  April is a
green pickup (ute to you Aussies).  My kitchen calendar is Murphy's Law
cartoons.  My entry hall calendar (the place of honor) is from a newsgroup
friend in Oregon.  April is wildflowers at Hug Lookout Point.

I only have one '08 calendar right now, which hangs in my computer
room at home. It's the Cats in the Sun calendar, by Hans ... (?) can't
remember his last name at the moment. He lived on a Greek island and
took thousands of photos of the local cats. Made him a bundle, too,
because he published at least 3 coffee-table books from the photos
(that's how many I know about, anyway), and has put out a calendar
every year since at least 1999, maybe earlier. These are some of the
best professional cat photos I've ever seen. (Of course, it doesn't
hurt that a Greek island is in the background. :)) Just regular old,
scruffy street cats, most of whom are quite friendly because the
townspeople feed them. It's a fishing community, and the cats hang
out on the docks waiting for the boats to come in, so they can get a
handout.

I was very late in buying it - didn't get it until a couple of weeks
ago. The benefit of that is that it was deeply discounted. Usually
sells for about $15, I got it for $4. I wasn't that crazy about the
March photo because it was a picture of a cat that was far away. The
February photo was adorable, a closeup of 3 stripey cuties all cuddled
together. So for the past 2 weeks I've been looking at February. Who
cares - I only buy them for the pictures. But thanks for the reminder,
now I get to check out what's in store for April.

I was bummed because another calendar I'm very fond of is produced by
a local food store, and it's all photos of gardens in my area. Really
pretty, unpretentious backyard flower gardens. I got there too late
this year and they were all sold out. :(

Dining room, a big yellow cat snoozing which reminds me much of Yoda,
next to the computer is a gorgeous white Arabian stallion. It was a
joy
to turn the calendar to April. It's my favorite month of the whole
year. I
love watching things turn green and start to bloom, it's usually near-
perfect
weather-wise here, and my birthday month too.

At home I hace a cat calendar. April shows a brown tabby in a tree. The
photo has been taken from underneath, so you see the spotty tummy and
the paw pads balancing on the (thin) branches. The cat is looking down
at you with a friendly look on its face. It looks quite comfortable,
though you'd think it wasn't.

At work I have a small calendar with Japanese drawings of cats. April
features two spooning kittens.

At home I have a Tabby Cats calendar.  April features an orange tabby
perched atop a metal watering can in a garden. My work calendar is a Dilbert
one, appropriate for the office.  But I have a picture of Five on her cat
tree as my Windows desktop for every day.

In my bedroom (which is also my office so to say) I have the kitten calendar
that Mike and his best friend found for my birthday last year.  It has a
little orange and white sherbet kitten on it.  The dining room has my Gary
Patterson calendar.  April on it is titled "Fat Cat" and has a huge orange
tabby leaning against pillows with cans of cat food scattered around it.
The obligatory mouse is peeking over one of the pillows.  Patterson always
has a mouse somewhere in his cat pictures.  I always have to find the mousie
before I can be happy.

Well.... I must be an oddball. =o) No kitties on my calendar this
year, although I had a New Yorker Cat Cartoon calendar last year. But
as I say, I love cats, but I don't have to have them on everything I
own.  My wall calendar is paintings by the 19th century Swedish
painter, Carl Larsson.  The April picture is a man walking in a spring
field planting seeds as he walks. Very pretty paintings, lots of
detail, which is important when you look at something for thirty days,
or so.

I do have one of those 365 cats a year cat-a-day calendars at work
though, so I'm not a total oddball, around here. =o)

My calendar is Thomas Kinkade.  Because of the variety, in color, because
they way he uses light, he is one of the few painters I can tell much about
his work.  No cats though.
