CatNipped - 25 Nov 2004 18:25 GMT I am a really *big* fan of Christmas trees. I spend lots of time decorating mine - I even pop and string popcorn for garland. My ornaments are all hand-picked, some hand made, and one treasured one is a tiny pair of wooden shoes my dad (RB) brought home to my mom from Holland at the end of WWII).
So, here are some pictures of the results of this year's effort - and some pics of Sammy, *AND* an online version of my home-made Christmas Card for those of you not on the list this year (and a preview of what you're getting if you are ;>)...

Hope you enjoy!

CatNipped - 25 Nov 2004 18:49 GMT > Abeautiful tree!!!! Your house is lovely. Thank you, Karen. It's old and a bit shabby, but we're very comfortable here and we love it (and the cats are crazy about it - there's lots of room to run and play and they even have their own bedroom).

Karen Chuplis - 25 Nov 2004 21:19 GMT >> Abeautiful tree!!!! Your house is lovely. > [quoted text clipped - 5 lines] > > CatNipped Doesn't look old or shabby to me! Besides, that is part of a nice house. I see these brand new shiny, bare houses and think, "but it doesn't look like a HOME."
CatNipped - 25 Nov 2004 22:47 GMT Well, thankfully the shabbiness (stained carpets, wallpaper needing to be taken down, paint needed on walls, etc.) doesn't show up in the pictures. We do love it though, it is very comfy and warm. You've inspired me to give you all a virtual tour of my house - I'm very proud of it since we've only had it a year now, so I'm still bragging - I'll post the link in another (marked OT) post.
Hugs,
CatNipped

What a beautiful home you have, CatNipped - it looks very light, and calm, and tasteful. The cyber card was great :-))

We love living here, it's a very old and quiet neighborhood - it's in the middle of the woods and since it's so old it was built around the trees instead of them razing all the trees in order to build the subdivision like they do now-a-days. The kitties love it too, they're very happy here.

You are both tasteful and industrious! I love the little kitty stockings. The oldest ornaments are the best. I have some from when I was a baby, and those are still my favorites. I always squeal when I take the little duckie out of the box.;)
Sammy is looking very dignified!
Stinky loves to sit under the tree. ;)

As I mentioned in another post, I'm not industrious, I just have ADHD. I not only decorate the house, I clean everything in it, I do the yard, work, do volunteer web work 11 hours a day, write, read a lot, take care of the cats, shop, and sleep *very* little - LOL.
The wooden shoes are my most precious possession - my dad died when I was four and that affected my life a lot. He is the one who taught me to read, write, play chess, canasta, gave me my love for animals, my sensitivity to those more helpless than me and my humanity. I still miss him 49 years later!

CatNipped - 26 Nov 2004 02:46 GMT Oops, that should have read "work 11 hours a day and do volunteer web work".

Loved your on-line card as well.
A very merry Christmas to you and yours from our house.

I love decorating the tree and then just looking at it for a month to not do it. I just put the non-breakables at the bottom of the tree and re-hang anything that gets knocked down.

I got the "real" card but it's so great you could put the cyber card up on the site!

But this year was a challenge (I'll write the "Decorating the Tree with Mommy" story Monday or Tuesday).

Sam Nash - 26 Nov 2004 02:07 GMT >I am a really *big* fan of Christmas trees. I spend lots of time >decorating [quoted text clipped - 16 lines] > > CatNipped Wow! Do you ever sleep? The wonderful Christmas cards (got ours already), the superb Sammy stories, your beautifully-decorated home. Plus you seem to make it to RPCA *every* day. I'm truly impressed. I don't know how you find the time.
Hugs back at'cha. Sam

Thank you for the very nice compliments, though, my head is swelling nicely! ;>
