Following on from the drama last week, poor old Cleo had her dental
today. :o( I've just picked her up from the TED, where she lost 5
teeth, all around the angle of the jaw where she had the Stomatitis!
He's cleaned her up and thinks because there was such a dramatic
improvement due to the antibiotics, she doesn't have Calici virus. :o)
She's had another long acting antibiotic and is home now.
I'm relieved. I was worried about my little girl.

Drat, I'm still just getting the Re:'s and I wanted to say, I know what
you're going thru, as my Mosey had to have 3 of his fangs removed about a
month ago, then he got a tapeworm, but he's feeling much better now:)
Purrs for your poor Cleo to feel better soon. Get some kitty toothpaste
from the vet, and just let her lick it off your fingers, and this will help
her with any future dental problems.
Mosey would eat the whole tube if I let him..

I'm glad it wasn't something more serious - that was bad enough. Purrs
for her to get rid of all the nasty germs and feel better!
And for you, and your wallet, to finally catch a break!

That break would be gratefully recieved!
If I didn't have insurance for Cara, I would have paid out £1459.50 (US
$ 2,900) on vets bills this month. As it is, I've paid out £612 (US$
1,220) because Cara was insured, thank Bast.
Thank Goodness for a windfall of £420, out of the blue which paid for
most of the bill!! They say Bast looks after her own and she certainly
looked after my bank balance!

Dang, that's some serious dental work! I'm glad she's home, now, though.
Are you supposed to feed her only wet food for a while? Did they give her
any kind of a special diet?

I'm so glad she is doing so well.
Cats are so darn good at hiding tooth problems. I hope this will be all the
dental work she requires for a while. I'll bet she feels 100% better within
a week.
I do not know why some have so much more dental trouble than others. Nearly
all our cats have required fairly regular dental work from about 4 yrs old
on. But Jake has excellent teeth. He had them cleaned and one removed last
year when he had to have anesthesia for something else. Only time his teeth
have been worked on. And he's nearly ten.
Just a little while ago he yawned really big. Let me know they are all in
good shape and he has a very large healthy mouth.
