March 24, 2004 we brought home our brown tabby girl from the local shelter
(not a no-kill) - a shy adult female (estimated 3 years old then) that was
possibly days from being put down to make room in the crowded shelter for
kitten season. She didn't appear social to shelter visitors, because she was
scared and cowered in the back of her cage, so no one else wanted to look at
her.  But when we took her into a quieter room she snuggled in our arms,
purred and gave headbutts.  Monday she'll get extra treats of leftover
Easter ham, and some seafood from Red Lobster (along with special gooshy
food) as we celebrate four years sharing our home with the most loving,
adorable and cuddly green-eyed tabby we've ever seen.

Happy purrday to miss Cat Five, our network cat!

Thank you!  She got some extra treats today too.  Kathi & I went to a CFA
show in Middletown, NY today and picked up some food samples from Royal
Canin & Nutro (the kitten stuff we'll drop off at our local shelter so new
slaves can get a starter kit - pun intended), and got her some new mats to
lay on. Last week we also got her a couch shaped cardboard scratcher for
lounging.
