Whoever gets to the top of the cat tree first in top cat for the day. I kept
trying to find an order but there really isn't one. Pig ignores what she
doesn't like and O T and Willow duke it out sometime.

Imp is an introvert with an overinflated conspiracy theory.  He comes
out when it suits him and if you so much as move in his presence he
feels you are out to get him so he disappears under the bed.

Mayhem is the little fluffy princess.  Mischief is the QUEEN, and
every now and they they clash over who gets the prime bed space, who
gets Meowmie's attention first, or even if one looks at the other
funny.

Pooh is the old lady.  "Leave me alone and what time is eats".
Felix is a silent bully.  Stays to himself but picks a mean brawl now and
then.
Maui is the alpha.  Also a lover when he wants attention.
Oscar.  He's the runt and my fav...  but out of all cats, he's the only one
my Fabio (chihuahua) is afraid of!!

Stinky is-- potentially-- a Buddha.  He has no desire to lead or follow,
just to live in peace.  However, Dante is a Pest.  He often forces the issue
and earns a hiss or even an occasional bop on the head.

Well, we only have a pecking order of three, excluding humans.

But Molly is definitely staging a coup of sorts.  Every day it seems she
takes one more delicate step to absolute dominion.

Most recently, she not only slept on our bed, but she came to bed first.

Then looked down at Jake as if to say, "you can sleep here too, but I'm not
moving"

My girls seem pretty equal, and take turns being the top cat. I think
though that Nina is top cat more often. They have play battles and
chase-races on a regular basis, then I find them lying close together
on the bed, often engaging in mutual grooming. The mother-daughter
bond seems pretty strong. Sometimes, they hiss and spit arguments over
who gets to sit in my lap. Nina is usually there first, sometimes
she'll tolerate Francesca joining us, and sometimes she won't.

Melissa

Mir and Caliban are pretty equal overall. In fact, I've never seen cats
with a strict pecking order, and I've lived with cats all my life. Frank
and Nikki both did their own thing. So do Mir and Caliban. They have
their mutual grooming sessions, which seem to enforce their equality,
because neither will submit to just being groomed by the other. They
also have daily wrestling matches which are initiated by both in turn.

HRFL Tiger is the boss. Miss Lily Whiskers wants to be the boss, but
Tiger puts her in her place periodically. Robbie wants to be the boss,
but hasn't a hope in hell because he's no match for Tiger. Tiger does
everything Pandora tells him, so he's well and truly pussy whipped, so
really Pandora is the boss. Except Robbie and Lily won't accept her as
the boss. Cleo just stays in bed doing her own thing and lets the
others get on with it.

The pecking order changes on any given day.  Aggie is 13 y.o. and considers
Victor, 10 y.o., an upstart. Occassionally he will be aggressive towards her
but out of range of her slapping him upside the head.  She, when he annoyes
her, sits on him.  He gets the message quick as she weighs 13 pounds to his

Tyrone is the top cat.  He's the only male in the feline household, so I
guess that makes sense, sort of.  Anyway, Pua is second cat and Chloe is the
lowly third.  My husband loves Chloe best, though, and he gives her a bunch
of attention, so she's not lacking in that.  Her self-esteem is assured.

Jessie (second smallest in size at 7 pounds 10 ounces).  Jessie is the overt
queen of the clowder now that Bandit has gone to the Bridge.  Jessie doesn't
take nuttin' from nobody and has never been afraid of anything in her life.

Demi (smallest in size at 7 pounds 6 ounces).  Demi is the covert queen of
the clowder (she's never seen, but when she's sneaking around to get food or
a treat nobody better mess with her - sort of like 'I'd rather fight
somebody who's mad than somebody who's scared 'cause they're gonna kill you
to get away').  Sammy is the only one dumb enough to mess with Demi (and
then she usually just takes a pot-shot swipe and runs away - which is how
Demi got her cauliflower ear).

Sammy (AKA Samazon, largest in size at 20+ pounds of muscle).  Sammy
*should* be the alpha cat, but Jessie has always been able to put a whuppin'
on her (she still thinks she's the same size as when I first brought her
home and could hold her in the palm of my hand).

Archer (middle of the clowder in size at 11 pounds).  Archer thinks he's
invincible and will leap through the air, bite Sammy's throat, and wrestle
her to the ground (in actuality, he *has* to leap to get up that high, he'd
have to have 3 inch fangs to penetrate that coat, middle coat, and undercoat
of Maine Coon fluffiness, and he'd have to have the jaw size of a lion to
encircle that massive neck).  Sammy will wrestle around with him, loving
every second of it (when Archer and Ozzy came home she *finally* had someone
who would play rough with her like she always tried to get Jessie and Demi
to do (and always got her butt whipped for her efforts)).

Ozzy (named after Ozzy Osbourne for a reason, second largest at 12 pounds 15
ounces).  Ozzy is our laid back, "peace out", drugged-out-looking hippie of
the group.  Sammy will chase him around while he "trills" at her trying to
make friends with her.  He's not really afraid of her - he'll go a lay down
right next to her (in fact he has a bit of a crush on his Samazon), but he
will never, ever, ever fight back with anyone except for mock-wrestling and
grooming sessions with his bro-fur.  I can pin him down, put his paw or ear
in my mouth, and nibble away and he won't even try to pull away.  He gets
this resigned look on his face and you can see him thinking, "Mommy is
nibbling on me, I really don't like it, but I'm sure she has a good reason
to 'cause she's the mommy, so OK, whatever".
