I took your recommendation on cat litter. At first I wasn't crazy about the
cardboard box it comes in or the price.
But it is great. (Ever Clean)
Sadly, my once great sense of smell isn't so great anymore. (At the rate
I'm falling apart someone may have to tell me when I'm dead)
Not so bad for me, but not so great for making sure the cats don't stink up
the house.
And we really didn't need anymore big plastic containers cluttering things
up.
The litter boxes got completely changed out today as part of the pre Easter
house cleaning. They had only been scooped for the last six weeks and I
didn't notice any smell at all when I emptied them out. Charlie says it
works great, and he can tell better than I can.
As a plus the cats seem to like it.
The price isn't bad after all if it works this well.

It is pricey, but we wouldn't trade it, it works great for us!

I don't think we've ever emptied and cleaned our current boxes. And
there is absolutely no smell. :)
Plain clay would not allow you to do that, you have to have activated
charcoal.

Really today I changed them out because normally they would have needed it.
My Son-in-law has a hard enough visiting us with the cats. Even if we clean
carefully before they arrive and kick the cats out for the day. (Like they
mind getting to stay out all day this time of year)
Looked to me like it was a waste of time and litter. Scooping would have
done it. I split the box between two litter boxes so there is a lot of
litter in each of them.

yes, makes sure to keep it deep enough so that the pee doesn't reach the
bottom of the box. That way you don't have to empty it and scrub it. We
just scoop every day and get all the little loose bits, and that way we
only have to dump the whole thing out every few months (not monthly as the
company suggests - they sell more that way!).
