Nanki-Poo update 3-17 - Mostly good

The vet called about the biopsy she did on Nanki-Poo. The tissue she thought
was an enlarged thyroid was another lymph node that tested negative. She
also tested some other tissue that was normal salivary gland. She will
remove the original lump on Wednesday. I have to have him there at 7:30 AM!
If he is doing well, she will also clean his teeth while he is out. I should
be able to bring him home around 5:00 the same day. The evening before will
be hard, because I have to pick up all food and water by 8:00. Neither of
the cats will be happy with me about that. She seems to think there is a
good chance this surgery will take care of the problem.

That sounds like great news, Joy. I'm so glad it's a fixable problem.
Hope
recovery is swift and easy.

Wow, what a relief that it's not anything too serious! Purrs for the
surgery to go well.

There's still a chance there might be cancer in the lymph node I first
mentioned, but it looks very hopeful that removing that lymph node will get
it all.

Fabulous!!  What a relief!  Hopefully all will be well with the surgery and
he'll come home with clean teeth and forgive you quickly!

Purrs for a great outcome.

Thanks, Sam.  The original lymph node is probably cancerous, but it looks as
though the surgery should remove it all.

That Is great news indeed.  I have an overactive thyroid that I have to have
to take meds for.  Yeesh.
You might want to get some kitty toothpaste from TED, to help Nanki-Poo's
teeth.  If she doesn't like to have her teeth brushed, you can just put some
on the tip of your finger and give it to Nanki-Poo as a treat.  Dental
health is VERY important for cats.
PUURRS from me and my Clowder for a successful outcome as well hon, and a
HUG for you.
Love,
Kyla

By this time, the bowls are taken up and the cats are complaining.  We'll be
thinking about you and Nanki Poo.  Please try not to worry and let us know
how everything is going.

Thank you, Pam.  I will.  The bowls are taken up, but so far they haven't
complained.  I'll definitely hear from them when I go out to the kitchen to
put my water in the fridge before I go to bed, though.  Normally that's the
time I give them treats.
