Jill, I was very sorry to hear about your Dad's passing.
Coincidentally, the last of Feb. I attended the funeral of a good
friend. Her ex-husband was there, and I spoke with him at length. It
turns out he was a member of Special Forces, and served several tours
in Viet Nam, and also served on Okinawa between around 1961-1972. I
wonder if he knew your father; I bet their paths had crossed
somewhere.

Thank you, Sherry. It was time. He was a tired (and very bewildered) old
soldier.
Their paths may well have crossed at some point. Dad left Okinawa in 1961.
He did two tours in VietNam starting some time in 1966.

I'm sorry about your dad. You always spoke about him with a lot of
affection and wry humor. He sounds like the type that if I knew him,
I'd hang around a lot while only occasionally rolling my eyes.

Thanks, Tak!
