The vet's office called this morning to say that all his blood levels are
normal.  This is good in that it means I won't have to give him thyroid
medication too.  It may not be so good since it doesn't explain the lymph
node.  Results from the aspiration will probably take another day or two.

It took him hours to forgive me for taking him to the vet and letting them
do all those things to him.  Then I had to give him a pill.  He did not come
in on my bed all night, and went out before I got up this morning.  When he
finally does come in, I'll have to give him another pill.  He'll probably
never trust me again.    :-(

My mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open.

He'll be okay.  Our furbies are rather forgiving critters.  :~)

Zak was pretty much impossible to pill at least when I was by myself.
One attempt ended with him drooling and frightened and me sitting on the
floor in tears.  It was maybe the worst day of my life being not so well
myself.  I thought it was all over since I could not get medicine into
him.  I was finally able to get him to take his stomache pills enough to
break the cylce of not eating by hiding them in pill pockets.  It did not
last very long since he figured it out but long enough to calm his tummy
and get him to eat which calmed his tummy even more.  He DID forgive me
even though I was afraid he would not and he lived with his CRF for
almost another year without another fight over pills and he was back on
the bed the night after our "incident".

Thanks for the reassurance, Andy.

I'm not giving him any more pills until I talk to the doctor.  I left a
message for her to call me.  There are two reasons for this.  I can't see
any reason to give him antibiotics if his bloodwork doesn't show an
infection.  Also, the instructions, which were relayed to me by an assistant
and are printed on the package, are to give the pills with food.  Except for
a small amount of canned food in the evening, both my cats are grazers and
eat when and as they please.  I can't make him eat on cue so I can give him
a pill.  Also, if I hover over him when he's eating the canned food, or
interrupt him to give him a pill, he'll walk away from the food.  As soon as
he finishes eating, he goes outdoors for a while.  I don't want to give him
the pills on an empty stomach, because I know from personal experience that
when pills are supposed to be taken with food it is because it causes an
upset stomach if they are not.

I'm waiting for her call.

Thank you, kili.  He did let me pet him today, but he wouldn't come up on my
lap.

Of course he'll trust you, it can take a long time to train a hoomin and he
knows he's got you well trained.

Continuing purrs for Nanki-Poo.
