We've been through two catflaps since moving here. The first was pretty
solid and could be closed by dropping a flap down into slots each side,
like a portcullis. Mingus first figured out how to slide the flap up
and out of the way, then when I tried fixing it at the top with parcel
tape, I found him sitting patiently at the door peeling the tape off.
The one we've got now is one of the plastic ones with a four-position
wheel that allows in, out, in/out, or fixed. Unfortunately it just
wasn't strong enough and Marblecake simply smashed her way through it
one night. It's fixed with duct tape and plastic reinforcing strips
so it keeps the rain out, but the latches don't hold any more.

Ours have done that too. First sign of a problem is a house with no
cats in it any more.
Anybody know a source of cast iron catflaps with rotary combination
locks?

LOL! And maybe with a password or two? Just don't use your pet's names. :)
