Persia can't figure it out.  It's raining.  Yes, the kitty walk is wet.  No,
you can't go outside.  She didn't care.  So I carried her outside.  She
immediately squeaked, "Eeek! It's raining!" and ran to go back inside.  Now
she's demanding to be let outside again. (sigh)  Sorry, it's still raining,
Persia.

It's going to get cold outside, too.  The kitty walk is off limits when it's
cold.  Sorry, Persia.  But you can enjoy the nice crackling fire in the
fireplace and curl up and pretend the sun is warming your fur.  And mommy
will feed the winter birds so you'll have more to look out out the windows.

You don't understand, Jill. You're supposed to Fix It. ;o)

My bad!  I don't know *how* to Fix it!

I do, however, know how to take advantage of it.  When I say it's raining I
mean it's a deluge.  A driving rain.  I had some baking dishes with baked-on
crud... I squirted them with dishwashing liquid and set them on the patio.
The sheer pressure of the rain has washed the gunk off.  Now they just need
a quick wash in the sink and they're all clean! ;o)

Oh, I use that method (without the washing liquid) out on the island,
too. Sometimes a furry little helper has been known to clean the dishes
out on the deck before the rain gets to it.

Well, let's see. You could escort her with an umbrella, first spreading
warmed towels on the walk. You could put up a canopy. You could fit her
with cute rain boots and a raincoat. You could....ahem...

OK.  Let's send a big sackful of lemons to Jill, then all show up on her
doorstep.  I bet she'll make us a big pot of lemonade.

My parents had a cat, Tinkerbelle, who was trained to ask to go
outside, rather than litter-box trained.  In rainy or
particularly-cold weather, she would go to each of the outside doors
in turn, look out at the messy weather, then go to another door,
apparently in hopes that one of them led into good weather.  Once
hydraulic pressure forced her to finally go outside, when you let her
back in, she would meow for several minutes, as if she was
complaining about the weather.  On a few occasions, she led me to
closet doors, then turned away as soon as they were opened, as if to
say, "Darn! That door still doesn't lead outside!".
