I'll add one more anyway. :-)
I use an RSS reader extension to Firefox. Specifically, I'm using Wizz.
I have added icanhascheezburger.com to my subscribed feeds, and then add
it to the watch list. Every thirty minutes (my choice of time
interval), Wizz goes out to look to see if there have been new posts,
and alerts me if there has been. When I click on the link from Wizz, the
individual URL is in my address bar.
Wizz makes it easy for me to watch the blogs that I am interested in.
It does have a few bugs, and they may be tied to me not taking the time
to properly learn the mechanics of the software, but overall, I am
satisfied. I just haven't figured out how the Firefox cache ties into
it. It will ask me to clear the cache, and if I do, I see all kinds of
old posts again. Someday, I'll figure it. It's free--advertising
supported, but only advertising off of their homepage, and not within
the extension itself.
