You mentioned yesterday that you hadn't been able to find leeks where you
are staying.  I well remember those small southern groceries that consider
carrots, potatoes and iceberg lettuce a produce isle.

But my family would like to thank you.  The post reminded me I had a leek
leftover (who ever has leftover leeks) from when I made chioppino last week.
That and some potatoes, a can of chicken broth and a diced up chicken breast
made a lovely soup for last nights dinner.

It was a windy rainy day, perfect for soup.  And it saved me having to go
out to pick up groceries.  Ten year old grandson ate two bowls full, and I
overheard him say to Grandpa, 'you have to have some of this'

LOL  They do a little better than that, but leeks aren't in season yet.
Given that things such as the yellow squash and zucchini I've seen available
are teeny tiny, I am guessing if it's not time to grow it I'm not going to
find it!

Sounds tasty!
