Cat Forum / Cat Anecdotes / February 2008Very, very sad news....
Oh group!! :'( My father just called me. I brought he and Mom two kittens about 8 yrs. ago. Lucy-Fur and Lily White. The girls turned out to be huge, gorgeous red and white cats. Since Mom died last year, they've been Dad's everything. Last week, Dad called and told me that Lily was acting strange. He kept an eye on her. This past weekend wasn't good. By yesterday morning, Lily was in the back of a closet. Dad took her to TED yesterday morning. TED called late last night and told Dad it was kidney failure. They discussed options, but Dad didn't want his Lily girl in pain. Dad took Lily to TED this morning.... Lily is gone. :(((( I'm happy to say that Mom is thrilled!!! Her Lily girl is with her now. But for those of us left behind... it's a heartache of the worst kind. Hearing my dad cry on the phone just made it all the worst. God speed to Miss Lily White.... The joy of it is that we all understand and there is none of that "oh it is just a cat/dog" I miss my scooter as bad today as when she went ot the bridge in november. Because we care, we share the pain. I understand how it feels when you have lost a loved one (human) and that makes you feel all the more attached to your cats. Then to lose one of the cats, would be unbearable, I'd think.
