This evening, I realized I hadn't seen Francesca for some time, and
only Nina was napping on my bed as I was working on my computer,
tonight. So I poked around in my livingroom, dining room and kitchen,
calling Francesca. I  looked for her in my clothes closet, the coat
closet, in the kitchen cabinets in case I had  accidentally shut her
in, somewhere. No answer, no sign of her, and in spite of myself, I
began to worry that she had somehow slipped outside, even though I
didn't see how she could. I had been indoors pretty much from supper
time on, tonight. Frequent calling made no difference, until finally a
little stripey dark shape came padding into my bedroom from the
livingroom to my huge relief.  She gave me this disgusted look of
"Will you calm down, already? I was just testing a new nap spot!
Honestly, hoomins!"

This can be done in one room. Feather (rb) and I lived in a studio
apartment, which was actually just one fairly big square room with a
sink, stove and fridge at one end and a bathroom off it at the other.
He could disappear for hours and then come back nagging me for
attention, as if I had been _neglecting_ him.

I do that all the time. Just when I think I know all the sleeping spots,
they find a new one.
