Batley is home now, sound asleep in his crate. The vet gave him valium
to stop some seizures, and he still hasn't come around.  We have been
checking on him, and he seems to be breathing ok.

I took him to my vet this am, and told her that he hadn't urinated in
at least a day, and had problems going p** also. She checked him over,
and his bladder was extremely full, so she catheterized him and
drained the poor baby. He was a bit better afterwards, but still
wobbly. I insisted that they check his liver and kidney values, and
the liver enzymes are way out of whack. Two weeks ago, when I had him
at the e-clinic, the enzymes were at 30. Now they are over 100. They
think he has a liver shunt, which can be tricky to manage in a
multi-cat household. The liver problem can be causing the seizures,
but the vet also thinks that his rabies shot is causing alot of the
odd symptoms he has been having. He had a seizure that caused him to
attack my shoe - it was under the dresser at the time, and he was
growling and screaming at it like it was an attacker. I touched him
and he jumped backwards, hissing and growling at me. I asked my hubby
to get a crate, and I threw a towel over him and got him into the
crate. (This was the day after the surgery) He growled and hissed all
the way to the vets. You would have sweared that he was a HUGE cat by
all the noise he was making - he weighs almost 5 lbs.

When he wakes up, I have to give him some baby food rice, as it is low
in protein. I will add a bit of honey to it to give him a bit of a
boost.  Hopefully this will not cause him to have a seizure. He will
have to have a low protein/high fermentable fiber diet to help keep
the ammonia out of his system.

The vet said he was a very good boy, didn't protest anything that they
did to him, and played a bit with the IV line.  He is a sweetie!

He is awake now, and I have to feed him.

I will keep you updated.

Thanks for the purrs and prayers. They helped.

That's certainly a tough diet for a kitty.  Purrs for the little
cheeky and cheerful cutie.

I admit I had a little bit of a start at first, because I was reminded
of another kitten on this newsgroup that suffered from seizures - his
name was Bailey.
