I MET BRIDGET YESTERDAY!!!!!!

That's right.  Her flight from Indianapolis arrived here in Houston at
1:43 p.m. and my husband and I were there at the arrival gate to meet
her.  Bridget told me she'd be wearing a bright pink blouse and a
skirt, so I would have an idea of who she was.  I never know until
about 3 minutes before I get dressed what I'm going to be wearing, so
I told Bridget a few days earlier that I'd be holding a sign that said
simply

                    r.p.c.a.

but wanting to make absolute sure she would know who I was, I decided
at the last minute to don my black cat ears, my long black cat tail,
and quickly 'grew' some whiskers on my face with the help of a black
grease pencil.  I tried to sneak out the front door before Darla saw
me, but Dang It - she caught a glimpse of me in my ears as I made a
dash for the front door, and I knew I'd have to smooth things over
with her when we got back home.

Bridgets flight was half an hour later than scheduled, so we just
people watched to kill the time.  Well, to be honest, I believe it was
more of a 'people watching us' thing.  Especially the little girls.
They all stared at me in great fascination - no doubt because my
whiskers were perfect!  Three on each side.  In fact, at one point,
while DH was going to check the incoming flights read-out, he walked
past a father and his young daughter and I overheard her say to her
dad "is she a REAL cat?"  and then when DH came back he told me the
dad had answered her question with "why don't you ask this gentleman?"
to which DH, walking past them replied "yes she is a real cat, and if
you pet her just right, she purrs"  Then on his way back to where I
was sitting, DH leans in and says to the man "my wife is a bit
psychotic".

But he's wrong, and here's proof......go to picture titled "Bridget &
bon Cat" in a.b.p.a.

Bridget, coming through the arrival gate saw me and knew who I was way
before she ever saw the "r.p.c.a." sign.

So, while DH drove, Bridget and I talked about cats, r.p.c.a., and
about how you people are so cool and what a bummer it is that you and
Tom won't be able to make it next weekend Victor, and just everything
all the way to her sisters (who was still at work) apartment, and
Bridgets nieces let us in.

The little 7 year old niece is a perfect sweetheart, and I hope the
SON OF A BITCH that hurt her rots in jail.  It's exactly where he
belongs, and I hope bad things happen to him every day for the rest of
his miserable life.  But I'm sure we all feel the same way about that
whole business, so that's all the ranting I'm going to do..

Now, check this out........when Bridgets little niece came out to
greet us she had all snuggled up in her arms the fluffiest most
beautiful little white and black kitten that I have ever seen.  And I
suppose the young lady must have sensed my impatience to hold that
baby, because she walked right over to me and proudly handed me her
kitten and said "her name is Q-Tip".

Oh! That kitten was like holding a cloud. But then she turned her head
around to look up at who was holding her, and when she saw that it was
a CAT, a way HUGE cat, well, she hissed!  And then she hissed some
more.  I thought it was pretty funny, and laughed as I handed her back
to her little hoomin.

So that's about it.  I gave Bridget my phone number, and I hope she
calls while she is here in Houston.  We're looking forward to meeting
you CatNipped (I'll be e-mailing or calling you within a couple of
days) and anyone else who can get to the Houston area next weekend.
My DH and I also have a guest room in our house if someone needs a
place to stay.

Can you post that picture to the "we met" folder at Catslaves, please? If
you aren't a member of Catslaves, could you just e-mail to me, please?

Wish I could be there in Houston with y'all, shame its just a "tad" out of
the way for me :-)

Yes, lovely picture of  Bridget, but where's the full face view of the
two of you?  We want to see that cat face!

OMG! You are a hoot! I can't wait to meet you! :) I don't think I'd have
the courage to do something like that....

I'm putting the picture in the "We met" folder in Yahoo.

I'm bummed too! We'll make it down to Houston sometime early next year,
I promise.
Have a great time!

Please pass welcoming purrs from Corpus Christi to Bridget and say hi to
Catnipped for us.  I wish we could get up there. If we do, it will be a
last-minute thing.
I can hardly believe you did that cat costume.  What a terrific idea.  I
can't get to the photo, but would love to see it.  If it's not too much
trouble would you email it to me at
removethisAnnie_Wxill@removethistoohotmail.com?
Just take out removethis.

How lucky you are!  I like the part about the kitten, Q-Tip.
