Just let the cats out of the dog cage.  We had tornado warnings, no watches
just straight to warnings.  Sirens and all that.  Front door blew open and
in 80 mile an hour wind, I couldn't close it.  I am no shrinking violet and
I finally gave up and went back to the hall way with the cats.

Now that it has passed. I got the door shut and every towel and blanket I
own is soaking up water.

The 3 cats sprang out of the cage and headed for the letterbox.  Two are
actually sharing!!!

This is just the strangest weather.  Even if you don't get the tornado you
get the awful wind.

I hate strong winds, ever since I was a kid..and I've been in a 'cyclone'!
It was Clinton's Inauguration Day, and trash day (a Wed) when the high winds
were in Renton, a suburb of Seattle.  I'd gone outside to collect the
re-cycle bin so the cans wouldn't be thrown thru someone's window, and when
I turned around, I saw a piece of my roofing headed straight for me...I just
froze and then it was by the grace of God that the roofing missed me by 3
inches...
I went back into the rented house, and shaking, called the landlord and told
him what happened.  Know what his reaction was??  Is the 'house' okay??
He didn't give a flying you-know-what about me.
It was later that I found out it was a multi-lateral cyclone,
whatever that is.  I didn't see a funnel cloud, just got  the wind.

Granby, I just read about the deadly tornados last night. I'm not sure
where
you live, but glad you came out unscathed. Sounds like it was an awful
night for many people.

We were lucky only two uprooted trees, My big windmill blew over and the
factory across the street looked like a junk yard.  I have a story about a
cat I will tell when I have time.

Hello my name is O T Mahoney, I am an orange kitty and I am gonna tell this
because Gramby doesn't like to think a lot about it. We all thought this was
funny at first but, now we don't know. This is bout the storm las night.

Ok, so the neighbor, and landlord comes over with the thing that sucks up
watermonsters and cleans the floor.  Then they put fans blowing on it so it
dries.  Willow has to watch her fluffy tail or the fan mite try and eat
itself.

Gramby was very nervous and scared.
We finally got to bed.  At some point she woke up and heard a really loud
purrrrring.   She thinks this sounds nice and comforting.  Then,  suddenly
she knows this isn't one of us three kitties purrrrring.  She slowly takes a
pillowcase off the pillow next to her, turns covers the purrring thing, sits
up and turns on the light all in one motion.  The purrrrrring thing doesn't
struggle.  SHE says it was the most beautiful Black Cat with pure Gold
colored eyes. We have all 3 been on the bed and decide we want to
investigate this thing.  All is well until Willow hisss at it!  Gramby takes
it to the garage, she wouldn't put it back out in the bad storm.  In the
morning she feeds it, and lets it go out the door.

Nowz da spookie partz, no peoples round here haz effer seen a blak kat wif
gold eyez.  Not no onez.  Whatefer itz was the purrink helped gramby las
nite and datz all I knowz. O. t. chief spokscat for our houze.

Sorry this is a cross between menowchat and people talk but it is what it
is.

So, if I understand this right, the Great Cat saw that Gramby
needed a Guardian to ride out the storm, and sent a beautiful
black cat with golden eyes. Now if Gramby chooses to believe that
the roles were reversed, that's just fine by Her!

Like Tabitha said in the other group, it sounds like it was an angel cat.
I don't normally believe in angels, but in this case...

It is a few days later and we are all looking for that cat.  I give up, it
was what it was.  At the time, it helped me as I was so scared.  Not seeing
well, my worst fear is that something will happen and I won't know the right
way to go to get us all out of dangers way.

I think sometimes that if there weren't Angels, there wouldn't be many
"handicapped" people walking around.  We sometimes get in situations that
there HAS to be someone  there looking out for us!

Granby, I agree with you about Angels.  I am, however, handicapped, but my
Angel is there to comfort me, along with mosey, who delivers the purrs for
my bad knees. I don't know why I have to be in so much pain all the time,
but I live with it the best I can
Love, puurrs and prayers for you and your safety.
