In fact, he's still purring. Quite loudly. He's still hiding, but
earlier, I stuck my hand down into his hiding place and started petting
him, and he just revved up the motor. Then he started stretching in
pleasure, and rolling around (as best he could - he was underneath a
small rolling cart with about a 2.5-inch clearance under there). So
I lay down on the floor and petted him while he purred away. Then I
got up and sat down at the computer to see if he'd come out.
And he came out! I leaned over and petted him, and now he's eating.
Stay tuned...

I now have him up on the desk with me and he's *all over me* - rubbing,
headbutting, rolling round, and of course, purring up a storm. I guess
he's officially over his terrified phase, and has gone directly into
the you're-my-best-friend-forever phase.
And now he's playing with string! What a cutie! Wish I had a camera.

I figured that in a few days he would be behaving like a "normal"
kitten.
A new environment is scary for a kitten!
I'm glad he's doing so well!

YAY!!! Everett is coming along nicely. He's warming up faster than
most fosters do. Pine Cone was an exception (ok, he wasn't a foster,
really, he'd decided we were the sorce of good eats and entertainment
right away and adopted us in an instant).
Pam S. happy for you both.
