I remember Miss Lily Whiskers, from when she was rescued. Seems like it was quite awhile ago.

Eye gouged out, paws and leg burned, end of her tail chopped off, ears ripped, dunked in engine oil (we didn't know what colour she was for 4 days), and left for dead next to her 2 dead siblings in a rubbish skip. She was 3 weeks old.

She was 3 weeks old. I remember your coming onto the group to say you were going to pick up a badly abused kitten from CPL who might not make it and would certainly lose an eye
I really would like to think that if the people who did that could see what a beauty they did that to they would cry because they could have had her as their owner....
NAH! I've heard of kitten's being drowned because the people involved somehow thought it was the kindest thing to do but that's ignorance- these people are willful sadists and I hope they got caught for it

----- It was pure sadism that was done to Miss Lily Whiskers and her siblings. There is no excuse for it these days. I was talking to my friend June the other day - she who is wonderful and always comes to help me when I get ill or smash myself up and looks after my critturs. She is quite a lot older than me. We discussed the disposal of unwanted kittens when she was younger. There was no spaying or neutering when she was a child. It was a given that if you had a female cat then she would have kittens regularly, her father would not drown them but take them outside and bang their head against the wall.
Aren't we so lucky now that we can get our cats neutered or spayed to avoid this? June said it used to upset her father so much to kill kittens. I knew her father. He only died last year aged 96. He was a gentle man.
Imagine without neutering or spaying.

The RSPCA actually managed to successfully investigate and prosecute but sadly their involvement was triggered by me getting the local press involved first.

:( That's not good. At the very least the person(s) was prosecuted, that's a pretty rare event.
I'm so glad MLW is happy now. Give her an extra cuddle for me.

bastXXXette@sonic.net - 05 Feb 2008 23:15 GMT I'm happy that Miss Lily has been named the Daily Kitten yesterday. And I think she's a sweet, adorable kitty. So I mean no disrespect toward MLW or Helen, but I'm going to kill this thread. It's just too upsetting... :'(

Sarsi's the same with Dave- he's "Daad-Dee!" And she can almost say it a sort of "Daaw-daa" noise
Mind you disturb her at rest and she'll say something that sounds like f**k off as sort of harsh Raw-ah sound

I'm hoping to buy myself a new digital camera within the next couple of pay packets so will be able to take some decent pictures.... once I've finished fixing the car, seeing the dentist, getting the kids vaccinations and health checks.....
