I've just been out to feed Shadow, I was giving him some scritches and I
heard him purr for the first time. He's so much more relaxed now, I'm sure
he's benefited so much from being neutered.

You just know before much longer we're all going to see a post with
the subject "Shadow slept on my bed" or something like that

I don't think Snoopy would like that.

BTW why aren't you on the way to the pub?

I am so pleased for both of you!

So pleased for you.  It can take such a long time.  I think it was about 2
years or more until Boyfie purred.  I thought he might not be able to purr
in the same way that KFC cannot meow.
He's quite a big kitty now but his purrs does not match, almost inaudible
but the best he can do.  His meow is good though ;-) whereas Kitty can be
heard purring downstairs if she is upstairs. KFC can only say È or wa for a
meow.

Shadow will be much more relaxed from being neutered.  He doesn't have to
wander 3 miles or more every night looking for girls nor get into fights
about them.  It's a great thing you did that for him.

He's doing great.  One of our rescue ferals, Ginger I think, didn't purr
around us for several years.
