My Amanda Lynn left tonight, on an adventure that we only can discover
when we too leave this plane. She lived 3 days longer than the vet
predicted, but the damage to her kidneys was just too great. She died
at 7:05 P.M. Eastern US Time. She was on my lap, with her head cradled
in my left hand, and left peacefully, no struggle at all. Sasquatch
was watching her from the end table beside the couch, and leaned over
to sniff her just before she passed. He gave me a sad look, and then
got down on to the floor.  The rest of the 'kids' are sad, and
cuddling together with their buddies.

There will be some rough nights ahead  - Amanda always slept on the
pillows between Dave and I, and she would knead my hair till it looked
like Phyllis Diller's hairdresser had visited me. I used to get so
upset with her for doing that - now I would give anything to have her
do it again.

Footnote: I have to take her body to the vets so they can do a
necropsy, so they can (hopefully) find out what caused her kidneys to
fail, and hopefully prevent anymore of my babies from suffering the
same fate.  From August 29th to today, I have lost 4: Ceridwen,
Gabriel, Bobby and now Amanda. {tears}
