Not personally but when I had the shelter we used pet finders to place older
cats with nursing homes and such.  They always did a wonderful job

I have used it in reverse - when I had the Fearsome Foursome, I listed them
on Petfinders through a rescue org (now a spay/neuter clinic!), and one was
adopted out, Minnie!  Got a Christmas card from her current slave, with a
recent picture!  She looks a LOT like Moe (just with a pink nose and more
stripeys on the body):  same almost-British-shorthair-head & face, but with
big golden eyes (instead of amber).

I'm not sure if you mean Petfinders or Petfinder.com (two differenct
locations -- with Petfinder.com being much better known).  I never went
through Petfinder.com to find a *young* cat.  However, I searched Petfinder
when a friend was interested in adopting a cat.  One of the cats that I
located was blind and had been at the shelter for several months.  My friend
would not consider a blind cat, but that picture really tugged at my
heartstrings.  From the picture, I really thought he was an old cat -- he
looked like a poor little old man in the photo.  I also knew that kitten
season was approaching and space would be at a premium.  Since he had
already been at the shelter for several months, I was afraid he would not
survive much longer.

Well, I'm sure those of you who know me from this group also know "the rest
of the story."  I drove the 35 miles to the shelter to look at the cat that
was pictured on Petfinders, and that cat was my wonderful, beloved Duffy.
As it turns out, he is not old (estimated at 3-5 years at that time -- Jan.
31, 2003).  Once he had a good home and good care, he also turned out to be
a gorgeous cat.  Most important, he is a truly loving, happy, energetic,
playful little guy.

So...Petfinder.com gets my vote as a good place to search (and that shelter
gets my *big* vote of thanks for saving Duffy by keeping him for several
months instead of the 14 days that they promise).
